Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation Internship
(Winter, Spring and Summer Sessions; 28-40 hours/week, unpaid)

During this unpaid Internship you will be working closely with the Marine Mammal program staff in various aspects of stranding response for live and deceased marine mammals. Participants also receive hands-on experience working with young Northern elephant seals and California sea lions, providing rehabilitative care at our facility.

Wildlife Hotline & Outreach Internship
(10-week sessions, 24-32 hours/ week, March- October)

This internship will focus on assisting the wildlife technician staff by operating the wildlife texting hotline, learn to properly identify California native wildlife, assist with wildlife/ human conflict resolution, and assist the Education and Outreach Manager with activities and educational tabling for community events, schools, and camps throughout Los Angeles. Although there will be exposure to wildlife handling, animal husbandry is not a skill set that will be taught during the Wildlife Hotline and Outreach Internship.

Wildlife (Avian and Terrestrial Mammal) Rehabilitation Internship
(Multiple 10- week sessions, 32 hours/ week, February- October)

During this intensive and immersive program, interns will assist staff and volunteers with all aspects of animal care within the wild bird and mammal nursery (Neonate Intensive Care Unit, NICU) as well as the general hospital (Intensive Care Unit, ICU).
