DESCRIPTION:When the power goes out\, the animals in our care can’t wait. At California Wildlife Center\, electricity isn’t a convenience\, it’s a lifeline. Generators power critical equipment like incubators that keep fragile babies warm\, fluid warmers that support lifesaving treatments\, and refrigerators and freezers that safely store food and medications. Without reliable backup power\, even a short outage can put vulnerable wildlife at serious risk. \nHaving dependable electric generators ensures we can provide uninterrupted\, high-quality care no matter the circumstances. Emergencies don’t pause for blackouts\, wind storms\, or wildfires\, and neither do we. Your support helps make sure CWC is always ready so every animal continues to receive the best possible care\, exactly when they need it most. \nTogether\, we can power preparedness. Your donation will help us purchase battery-powered generators so we can continue providing critical care during emergencies and power outages.\nIf we are fortunate enough to exceed our fundraising goal through grants and individual gifts\, the additional funds will directly support our operations by helping offset energy costs.

SUMMARY:Think and Drink: Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project
DESCRIPTION:Russell Marlow will be presenting the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project\, which centers on removing the defunct Rindge Dam and reconnecting nearly 18 miles of aquatic habitat in Santa Monica Mountains’ Malibu Creek watershed. Among the many benefits\, this landscape‑scale ecosystem restoration will help return sand to Malibu’s coastline and southern California steelhead to our streams.\n\nRussell Marlow is a Regional Manager for California Trout’s (CalTrout) South Coast Region\, leading the Ventura office. Russell’s project focus in the Ventura Office is on reconnecting critical habitat for the endangered southern steelhead through passage barrier removal or remediation.
